Mushrooms

You had me at mushrooms 🍄

Yep, you had me at mushrooms! I’ve been taking the capsule form for YEARS after reading bits and pieces here and there about the benefits of mushrooms. Welcome to the lowdown on these rightfully trendy little decorations that adorn many fairytale scenes. They don’t require sunlight to grow and a few varieties even glow in the dark. Some have hallucinogenic properties but psychedelics aside, medicinal mushrooms are in fact magical.

What’s all the hype? I mean, they even have a Netflix documentary called “Fascinating Fungi” then again they have a kingdom coveted all to themselves too since they aren’t a plant or an animal. There are 10,000 types of mushrooms out there all over the world and not all of them are safe to eat. However, the edible, medicinal mushrooms are incredible for human health. Mushrooms have been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine where they brew them in tea, grind them up into a powder and take them as capsules. These days they are found in coffee and smoothie powders too! The cultivation of mushrooms dates back to 1650 in France. They deserve more research but it’s believed they are vital tool for good health and longevity. 100 species of mushrooms are currently being evaluated for their medicinal application and health benefits.

Rock on and read on for more magic…
